How long do the registrations
last for?
The .uk registrations are for 2 years.
The .com .net .org names are registered for 1 to 10 years.
You get to chose when you register the name.
Do you charge anything
to transfer a domain name
No. All that we ask is that the domain name has been paid
for before you request a transfer.
Are there any rules when
applying for a domain name?
You may use any letter from a to z
You may use any number from 0 to 9
You may use the hyphen character -
The hyphen may not be the first or last character in the
name
You cannot use two or more adjacent hyphens. No single character
or two letter names are allowed. No full stops in your chosen
domain name are allowed
How do I pay for the services
I order?
We will invoice you for all of the services that you have
purchased during any particular day. You then have 7 working
days in which to pay. We accept Credit and Debit cards (Via
World Pay), Cheque or postal orders.
How much does a domain
cost?
UK domain names are £40 for 2 years with web and email
forwarding. .com .net and .org names are £20 per year
including web and email forwarding. Prices are inclusive of
all registry fees.
When does the domain get
registered?
If you are an existing authorised customer your registration
will have been processed by our automated system so you should
see .uk domains names showing as registered within 30 minutes
depending on how busy the Nominet servers are.
If you are a new customer your registrations will be held
in pending until we can verify your account information. This
is carried out several times per day so you should not have
to wait more than an hour or so.
.com domains are all authorised off line. We do this every
hour and the domain names usually show as registered on the
whois lookup within 24 hours.
What can I do with my
domain name?
1 You can register it and park it. This will show our home
page should anyone look for your domain name.
2 You can add web and email forwarding to it. Remember this
is free for the duration of your registration
3 You can register it an host it with us.
4 You can register it and point it at your own domain name
servers. This allows you to use hosting facilities provided
by other providers.
How much is it to transfer
a domain name to you?
You can trasnfer a domain name to us free.
Please note that if you transfer an existing domain name
to us and only require URL and email forwarding there will
be a charge of £5 per year to cover our administration
costs.
Can I transfer a .uk domain
name to your tag?
Yes. Please let us know before you transfer it.
When the domain becomes due for renewal with Nominet we will
bill you whatever our current rate is.
